Scuba Diving Lessons

Looking for an unusual holiday or birthday gift? Why not
present an all-paid pass for several scuba diving lessons?
Of course, such a gift is not for the faint in heart. This
should be reserved for those who continually look for new
adventures and thrills. Make sure the intended recipient is
a good swimmer and may be interested in diving as a hobby.

Check to see what your gift will cost. For example, the
price of six lessons should cover not just the actual
training by an experienced diver, but many other things as
well. Make sure the diver is certified as an instructor.
Find out if he or she has had other clients and see if you
can get references to check. Determine whether the price of
the lessons includes diving gear rental, unless your
friend has his or her own to wear. You should also ask
about liability insurance just in case of an accident. One
more point to cover is whether lessons can be rescheduled
following a postponement due to illness or special
circumstances.

Hopefully your friend will be able to take their lessons in
a body of clean water that is safe from danger. It would
be unfortunate were your friend forced to take their
lessons in a polluted water that is plagued by dangerous
predators and riddled with frequent riptides. Another
thing you will want to consider is the timing of the
lessons because if your friend gets off from work at 3 p.m.
with an hour drive to the site where the lessons are given,
it probably isn't a good idea to have them set up for 4p.m.
lessons. A simple but very unavoidable traffic jam could
cost them part of their lesson. You will also want to ask
the instructor if they are willing to start lessons late.
If not, part of a lesson will be forfeited due to unforseen
tardiness.

It is a good idea to be sure that there is no sales
component to the lessons. If you were given a great deal
on those five lessons, make sure that part of that bargain
did not include the instructor trying to sell your friend
on the latest line of scuba gear. Are they going to try
and sell more lessons are maybe even a boat as part of this
deal? Be sure that the gift only involves the lessons
themselves because you wouldn't want your friend to be
inconvenienced by further commitments and obligations.

Scuba diving lessons make an unusual and potentially
life-changing gift. Bestow them on the kind of person who
will enjoy the challenge of such an adventure, not someone
who will never put them to use. Check the ins and outs of
the gift before buying it, and find out whether it is
refundable just in case your friend has second thoughts.
